Skoda Octavia facelift officially teased, gets new headlights
Skoda recently revealed the new generation Superb and Kodiaq globally that come with completely new styling, interior and features on offer. The Czech brand has teased yet another product but this time around it is the mid-cycle update of the Skoda Octavia.
The teaser video shows the front profile of the updated model that reveals nothing but the revised LED headlamps that get new LED DRLs setup. We believe the sedan will get mild cosmetic changes following the latest design direction. The changes will include new lights, grille bumpers, alloys and revised tail lamps.
The interior too is expected to get some changes in terms of design and features. The dashboard is likely to feature a larger 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The Digital Cockpit is also expected to get bigger. Some details and features might trickle down from the latest generation Skoda Superb.
Skoda offers a range of petrol and diesel engine options in the international market with the Octavia. It is expected to continue with the same engine options with this facelift.
Skoda offered the latest generation Octavia in the Indian market for a short while in petrol-only variants and discontinued it sooner than expected due to low demand. The Czech carmaker was expected to launch the RS version of the new gen Octavia in India with limited units for sale but there is no word on the performance oriented version yet. Let’s hope they re-launch the Octavia in India with this facelifted avatar.
Currently, Skoda is selling Kushaq, Slavia and Kodiaq in the Indian market. They keep introducing new special editions for the Kushaq and Slavia frequently to keep up the sales. They are planning to launch the new generation Superb and Kodiaq this year in the country.
