Skoda has discontinued the Elegance variant of the Yeti and the company is now offering the SUV in the new Style variant.
The Skoda Yeti is one SUV that is an immense joy to drive and it is also very capable. However, with the optimistic pricing that Skoda had in mind while launching the car, it turned out to be a big dud in our market. The Yeti facelift which has been on sale since some time now was being offered in the Elegance trim for both 4×2 and 4×4 variants. The Czech automaker has now axed the Elegance trim and launched the Style trim.
The Skoda Yeti Style will be offered with both 4×2 and 4×4 versions. The Style trim also gets 16-inch alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlights with DRLs, front and rear fog lamps, LED tail lamps and roof rails. The SUV also gets a multifunction steering wheel, wooden finish on the centre console, removable rear seats, leather upholstery, height adjustable front seats and also a 12-way adjustable driver’s seat with memory function.
The long equipment list consists of features like cruise control, climate control, touchscreen infotainment system with 8 speakers, electrically foldable ORVMs, front and rear parking sensors and keyless go. The Yeti also gets safety features like six airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, electronic stability control, electronic differential lock, hill hold and hill descent control.
The SUV continues to remain unchanged on the mechanical front. The 4×2 variant comes with a 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 109 HP of power and 250 Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The 4×4 trim gets the same engine in a higher tune producing 138 HP of power and 320 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The Yeti Style is priced at Rs. 20.27 lakhs and Rs. 21.97 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the 4×2 and 4×4 variants respectively.
