Skoda has launched the Fabia Scout in India, which will be available in both petrol and diesel engines. The Fabia Scout is priced at Rs. 6.79 lakhs, while the diesel Fabia Scout is priced at Rs. 8.10 lakhs (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi). Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Both the 1.2-litre MPI petrol engine and the 1.2-litre TDI CR diesel engine produces 75 BHP of power. Skoda has offered high levels of equipment on the Fabia Scout, including projector headlights, front lip spoiler, body cladding, front and rear door sill trims, stainless steel pedal set and rear bumper with diffuser. The vehicle also features dual airbags, power windows, remote locating, integrated audio system as standard. We showed you detailed spy pictures of the Fabia Scout on test way back in May 2011. After almost an year, Skoda has introduced the vehicle in the Indian market.
The Skoda Fabia Scout features off-road styling elements, which help in differentiating the car from its competitors. It does not necessary mean that Skoda has any plans to offer all-wheel drive on the Fabia range anytime soon. The Fabia Scout might appeal to those looking for something unique and different, with added features being the real benefit. Skoda will launch the next generation Fabia globally in late 2013 and will follow it by an Indian introduction in early 2014.
