Skoda has been able to hit it out of the park as the Kodiaq was able to record 10,000 bookings within the first 10 days! In December, they also had to temporarily halt the booking of the base Kylaq Classic, resuming in January 2025. The Czech brand has decided to deliver 33,000 units by May 2025, as part of the first phase.
Skoda also promised the first 33,333 customers of the Kylaq a complimentary 3-year Service Maintenance Package (SMP). It is important to note that Kylaq’s majority of sales are earmarked for the high-spec variants over four months.
Increased Production Capacity
The Czech SUV is built at the brand’s manufacturing plant in Chakan, Maharashtra. Skoda has announced plans to increase production capacity by 30% to shorten waiting periods. There will also be faster procurement of base components by an extra 10% capacity given to the suppliers.
The current projections suggest that Skoda will produce 50,000 to 70,000 units of the Kylaq annually, depending on demand. Currently, it is only available in the Indian market, but Skoda has shown the intention to export the SUV to other markets as well.
Outlook
Skoda has also been able to register the highest monthly sales in March 2025, recording 7422 units. The lineup, consisting of Kylaq, Kushaq and Slavia, targets annual sales of 100,000 by 2026. With the updated Octavia, Superb and Kodiaq as well as the much-anticipated EV model in the lineup, the brand is poised to capitalize on the Indian market convincingly.
