Skoda Kylaq bookings open today, deliveries commence on 27th January
Skoda Kylaq launched with a starting price of Rs. 7.89 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the base Classic trim, the range extends to Rs. 14.40 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the top-spec Prestige automatic variant. Bookings for the Kylaq are set to open today at 4 PM, with deliveries beginning 27th January, 2025.
Pricing and Variants
The Kylaq is available in four trims: Classic, Signature, Signature+ and Prestige. The base Classic trim starts at Rs. 7.89 lakhs, while the top-spec Prestige trim, equipped with an automatic gearbox, is priced at Rs. 14.40 lakhs. Customers can choose from seven exterior colors: Tornado Red, Brilliant Silver, Candy White, Carbon Steel, Lava Blue, Deep Black and Olive Gold.
Powertrain and Performance
Under the hood, the Kylaq is powered by a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine delivering 115 HP and 178 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Skoda claims the Kylaq can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hr in 10.5 seconds. The top-spec Prestige automatic variant also features paddle shifters, adding a sporty touch.
Features Across Trims
- Classic Trim: This entry-level variant is equipped with six airbags, tilt and telescopic steering, electrically adjustable wing mirrors and all-LED lighting. However, it does not offer an automatic gearbox.
- Signature Trim: Key features include 16-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, tyre pressure monitoring, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, steering-mounted controls and rear AC vents.
- Signature+ Trim: Enhancements include a larger 10.1-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8-inch virtual cockpit display, climate control, a rearview camera and power-folding mirrors.
- Prestige Trim: The top-tier variant boasts premium features such as a single-pane sunroof, 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, automatic headlamps and wipers, LED fog lamps with cornering functionality, LED projector headlamps and ambient lighting.
Warranty and Special Offers
The Kylaq comes with a standard warranty of 3 years or 1,00,000 km, whichever is earlier. Additionally, the first 33,333 customers will benefit from a special maintenance package, reducing the running cost to Rs. 0.24/km, according to Skoda.
Competition and Market Positioning
The Kylaq enters a highly competitive segment, rivalling the Mahindra XUV 3XO, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Tata Nexon. Skoda aims to carve its niche with a blend of feature-rich offerings, a turbocharged powertrain and competitive pricing.
With bookings starting today and deliveries scheduled for early next year, the Kylaq looks set to attract significant attention in the compact SUV market.
