Skoda Auto India has revealed the official design sketches of its upcoming Kushaq compact SUV ahead of its 18th March launch.
It is clear that the design of the Vision IN concept has been carried over with specific changes to result in this series production version of the SUV.
Upfront, the sharp 2-part headlight clusters flank the wide new grille which has a chrome surround. The bumper has a broad air dam and skid plate as well.
Along the sides, the compact SUV will feature body cladding in the lower half, strong creases on the doors and an upswept beltline, while there are roof rails on top.
The second Skoda Kushaq design sketch shows the rear of the car. The tail lights, split by the tailgate featuring definitive creases, are striking, while the bumper features a skid plate and there is a roof spoiler as well.
In all, the official Skoda Kushaq design is not over the top, but is rather stylish and should stand the test of time, as the brand’s cars do.
Built on the MQB-A0-IN platform, a version of the Volkswagen Group’s Modular Transverse Toolkit, the Kushaq will come with a 95 percent localisation level.
It will be offered with 2 turbo petrol engine options (1.0-litre and 1.5-litre units) and each engine will come with both manual and automatic gearboxes for customers to choose.
With the launch of the compact SUV that will rival the Hyundai Creta, Maruti S-Cross and the likes, the auto firm will begin its India 2.0 product campaign.
