Skoda has started testing the Kodiaq in India ahead of its launch.
Skoda had unveiled the Kodiaq SUV to the public in September 2016 and the vehicle is based on the VisionS concept that was showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The vehicle is going to be launched in India later this year and it has now been spotted on testing rounds in Pune.
The Skoda Kodiaq will be positioned slightly above the Superb. The global model is available in 5-seater and 7-seater variants but it is unclear which configuration will be offered in India. The Kodiaq also gets the Skoda Connect infotainment system with WiFi, Google Earth, 360-degree cameras, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The Skoda Kodiaq is based on the MQB platform and globally it is offered with 1.4-litre TSI, 2.0-litre TSI and 2.0-litre TDI engines. Skoda will offer the 2.0-litre TDI mill in India along with the wet-clutch 6-speed DSG transmission while the 2.0-litre TSI might also be considered.
