The new Skoda Kodiaq Scout costs Rs. 2.79 lakhs less than the top-spec L&K variant.
A new variant of Skoda’s flagship SUV Kodiaq has been launched at Rs. 33.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). The new trim called Scout is a slightly rugged and revamped version of the Kodiaq to endorse its off-road abilities.
The Skoda Kodiaq Scout gets silver finishing on the ORVMs, roof rails, grille and the side window panels. The skid plates are more prominent now, again with a silver finish, present both at the front and the rear. Moreover, the cladding and wheel arches are blacked-out for a robust look. The Scout badging is there as well on the rear. It also features a set of dual-tone 18-inch alloy wheels.
The Skoda Kodiaq Scout gets a cabin with seats finished in Alcantara leather. The seats, dashboard and doors feature wood inserts with Scout letterings. It gets a 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto-compatibility, paired to a 10-speaker 575W Canton sound system. The SUV also gets a 12-way adjustable driver’s seat, ambient lighting, 3-zone climate control, a hands-free parking system and a panoramic sunroof. Although it misses out the cockpit instrument cluster and 360-degree camera from the L&K, it gets a tyre pressure monitoring system and an off-road drive mode.
The Skoda Kodiaq Scout draws power from the same 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine that does duty the entire Kodiaq range. Mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox, the powertrain delivers 150 PS and 340 Nm of torque. A 4X4 drive system comes as standard.
The Skoda Kodiaq Scout rivals the Volkswagen Tiguan (Rs. 28.14 lakhs, ex-showroom) and the Honda CR-V diesel (Rs. 30.67 lakhs, ex-showroom) in India.
