Skoda Kodiaq New Gen Spotted In India For The First Time

New generation Skoda Kodiaq spotted testing in India uncamouflaged

The new generation Skoda Kodiaq was revealed last year in October 2023 and now it has been spotted testing in India for the first time. The test mule doesn’t wear any camouflage and the SUV looks all set to hit the showrooms in a few months time.

The second generation Kodiaq gets a mature styling. The outgoing model had more cuts and creases and looked sharper but this one has got more curves and smoother edges to make it more aerodynamic. The front might remind you of the outgoing Kodiaq but it gets a completely new set of LED Matrix headlights and LED DRLs, new bonnet, new butterfly grille and revised bumper.

On the side you will notice there is a smooth shoulder line running across the body and it looks bigger since it has grown in length by 6 cm. There are new alloys on offer. The rear profile is completely new with a restyled D-pillar, new LED tail lights, updated tail gate and new bumper.

The interior has also been updated completely and it looks more luxurious. The new Kodiaq gets a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with 10-inch Virtual Cockpit. It comes with an optional head-up display as well. There are new Smart Dials in the centre console to reduce clutter, they come with multiple functions and small digital displays for different modes.

To further reduce the clutter and offer more practicality, Skoda has repositioned the gear selector to the steering column. The front seats come with optional massage function as well.

Skoda is offering a new plug-in hybrid petrol engine with the Kodiaq. It is a 204 HP unit that offers 100 km WLTP claimed electric-only range. Other engine options include 1.5-litre TSI, 2.0-litre TSI and 2.0-litre TDI engine options. We believe Skoda will only get the 2.0 TSI to the Indian shores at the time of launch. We hope they get the diesel too!

The new Skoda Kodiaq is expected to launch in India by this festive season. It will continue to compete with the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Jeep Meridian and Volkswagen Tiguan.
