Venue has posted its lowest volume in the past 4 months.
It was a matter of great trouble for Maruti when Hyundai’s Venue dethroned the popular Vitara Brezza last month to become the top-selling compact SUV. In an attempt to counter-attack, Maruti had aggressively promoted the Brezza by launching a scheme wherein the company was offering free warranty for a period of 5 years or 1 lakh kms to its customers across the country. The company is also working on the next-gen which shall sport a petrol engine. However, volumes fell by a monumental -28% in September 2019 when compared to September 2018.
The Hyundai Venue’s figures have fallen below the 8000 mark, and it posts its lowest volume in the past 4 months. Like a responsible elder child, the EcoSport has held Ford’s fort at the 3rd position despite the family commotion. At 17%, it also has the lowest degrowth amongst its peers.
Mahindra entered this segment with all guns blazing and a host of first-in-segment features. Sadly, it is swiftly losing volumes for the XUV300 and now the model sold lesser than Tata’s Nexon which is at the 4th position. The XUV300 is primarily losing on pricing when compared to its rivals and it shall be difficult for the model to be afloat with eroding volumes. Honda’s WR-V and Mahindra’s TUV300 have taken the second last and last position respectively after selling just 1341 and 995 units in September respectively.
