Second season of the Nissan GT Academy has started in India in a quest to find the next real world racing driver from our country who will drive for Nissan in international racing events.
The GT Academy Asia competition was introduced in 2014 giving accessibility to 2.2 billion people to become race drivers for Nissan. The Nissan PlayStation GT Academy has now entered the second season in our country. Nissan and PlayStation together are once again searching for a racing driver through the virtual world of Gran Turismo 6 as the revolutionary academy offers gamers the chance to chase their dreams and become a NISMO athlete.
Live India qualifying events will begin on 5th June 2015 in Delhi and will proceed to Mumbai on 12th June, Bangalore on 19th June and Chennai on 26th June. GT Academy online final qualification started on 2nd June 2015 and finishes on the 16th June 2015 on Gran Turismo 6 for PlayStation 3. Ten winners from the online game will join 10 winners from the live events at the Indian National Final that will be held in July 2015. The overall winner will become one of the six drivers at the famous Silverstone Race Camp.
More than 5000 gamers from all over India competed against each other to get to the GT Academy final race camp last year. Over the years, this competition has given dreamers and aspirants an opportunity to race in real racing cars on tracks all over the globe. Two former GT Academy champions Lucas Ordonez and Jann Mardenborough, have both been able to enjoy success as professional race car drivers and will compete at the world renowned Le Mans 24 Hours in the LM P1 class this June. The previous GT Academy winner from Russia, Mark Shulzhitskiy will also be driving the Nissan GT-R LM Nismo at the legendary endurance race.

- Chennai (26th – 28th June 2015) – Express Avenue, Royapettah
