Verito Vibe

Hold your horses, don’t get too excited. Piaggio is launching the Vespa 946 in India but it’s going to cost you as much as a KTM Duke 390. The Italian 2-wheeler major plans to bring the stylish Vepsa 946 in India soon, which will be brought in via the CBU route. The model is being brought to the entire Asia Pacific market and will serve as a brand building tool in India. Being imported, the Vespa 946 won’t be available off the shelf but will have to be ordered. The price is expected to exceed Rs. 2 lakhs.

The Piaggio Vespa 946 name comes from the date the company started making scooters, which is 1946. The Vespa 946 showcases the future design language of the Vespa with aggressive styling including a floating seat. Power comes in from two engines, both of which are single-cylinder air-cooled units employing 3-valves and fuel injection. The 125cc motor produces 11.7 HP of power and 10.3 Nm of torque. The 150cc mill produces 13 HP of power and 12.6 Nm of torque. These engines are low on sound and emissions.

Meanwhile Piaggio is getting ready to launch the Vespa VX, which is the same scooter as the Vespa LX125 but with a few changes like the inclusion of a front disc brake and minor changes to the styling (including new dials for the instrument cluster). The company has also taken customer feedback and will incorporate a few changes related to customer complaints and suggestions. Piaggio is also working on bringing the Vespa Sport, which is propelled by a 150cc engine. The Sport version will be launched by October.
