Tata Motors is gearing to launch the 2023 Nexon facelift in September and the hype around this hot-selling car is real. The new Nexon will have a lot of significant changes and improvements which will make it a stronger contender in the segment because competition is tough.
While a lot of renders of the Tata Nexon have been out, the vehicle has been spotted on the road completely undisguised for the very first time. As seen in this rather low resolution image, the vehicle retains its body style which has curvy design elements. However, Tata has done a lot of work on the fascia of the car to make it look more modern and sleek.
It gets a new grille, slim headlamps and new alloy wheels. From the side it looks identical apart from some enhancements to the C-pillar. The rear portion (not seen here) is also worked up with slimmer tail lamps and a new bumper.
On the inside, the vehicle will retain its fundamentals but will get a heavily reworked dashboard with a new screen, new cluster and revised AC controls. The vehicle will also get some extra features like a 360-degree camera. The vehicle will get blue coloured leatherette upholstery.
Under the hood, Tata will continue offering two engines – 1.2-litre, 3-cyl, turbo petrol and 1.5-litre diesel. There is a possibility of the petrol engine getting a bump in its power figure and if that happens then it’ll be applicable only on the higher trims which will also get a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCA, while the lower trims with the existing power figures may get a 5-speed. However, this is as per our sources and we are awaiting official confirmation.
The diesel engine will also be the same unit, with a 6-speed MT or AMT. The Nexon’s prices will be announced in September and we can expect these cosmetic changes to come on the Nexon EV too. The Tata Nexon faces competition from the Maruti Suzuki Brezza & Fronx, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.
