Leader of the middleweight bike segment Royal Enfield is set to launch a record number of models this fiscal year.

This was revealed by CEO of Royal Enfield, Vinod Dasari recently. He also added that the Classic 350 maker has lined up some important products for launch this year.

According to Enfield’s CEO, FY22 will “probably see the highest number of new models….ever seen from Royal Enfield in a year.” What’s more, Dasari says it is just the “beginning of the pipeline.”

Over the past few months, the bike manufacturer has been busy, having launched the Meteor 350, which has been well-received thus far, and rolled out updates for the Himalayan and its 650 twins.

Despite facing issues due to COVID-19, Enfield’s production has halved due to the second wave of the viral infection, the brand aims to keep launching a new model every quarter.

Not wanting to reveal any particulars, Vinod Dasari only stated that “there are some very big models coming in,” and that they are ready.

We presume that 1 of those proposed “big models” is the new generation Classic 350, which will take the baton from the current model which has been the best-seller for the brand.

Several spy pictures of the upcoming Hunter 350, have also been circulating online for quite a while now. But that only covers the single cylinder platform.

Royal Enfield believes that there is space for more 650cc products in its portfolio. Until now, 2 twin cylinder cruisers, one of which is likely to be called the Shotgun, have been caught testing on public roads, while the brand also trademarked the ‘Scram’ moniker recently, for a proposed middleweight scrambler.

With an order backlog of 2-3 months, Enfield is focused on solving supply chain issues before launching new models so as to not be short of supply.

“So, we may delay the launch by a month or so,” said Dasari about new Royal Enfield bike launch, indicating that the premium bike brand does not want to introduce new models without having enough quantity at hand.
