Royal Enfield Rumbler 350, which is essentially the Thunderbird 350, has been priced around Rs. 3.4 lakhs in the Australian market.
Having announced tentative prices for the 650 twins in Australia a couple of days back, Royal Enfield has made another attempt to capture the market through a more mainstream product. This time, the automaker has launched the Thunderbird 350 in Australia and christened it as the Royal Enfield Rumbler 350 due to copyright issues with usage of the original name. The motorcycle is sold as LAMS (Learner Approved Motorcycle Scheme) offering and is basically a rebadged version of Thunderbird 350. Price for the Rumbler 350 is 6790 Australian Dollars which is equal to Rs. 3.4 lakhs in Indian currency.
The Rumbler 350 is a cruiser motorcycle and borrows its styling entirely from the Thunderbird range sold in India. It gets a projector headlamp, LED tail lamp, dual pod instrument cluster, split seats along with a pillion backrest as seen in the Indian version. To comply with norms of the Australian market, the motorcycle also comes with orange reflectors positioned on the front forks. Other changes include a higher capacity 14 Ah battery and 5 mm addition ground clearance (now 140 mm). At 192 kgs, the cruiser is 3 kgs lighter than its India-spec counterpart.
Powering the Rumbler 350 is a familiar 346cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that develops 19.8 BHP of power and 28 Nm of torque. Shared with the India-spec model, the carburetted motor comes paired to a 5-speed transmission. Suspension setup comprises of telescopic forks up front and twin shock absorbers at the rear, while braking duties are handled by disc brakes at either end. Just like the Thunderbird 350 in India, ABS is not on offer even as an option.
In India, the Bullet-maker recently launched the 350X and 500X versions to supplement the original Thunderbird range. Basically, these X variants are more street-friendly versions of the original. In Australia, Royal Enfield’s product portfolio now comprises of the Rumbler 350, Bullet 500, Classic, Continental GT and Himalayan.
