New spy shots of the Royal Enfield Meteor have surfaced and they throw light on a modern instrument cluster with two screens!
While we informed you about the physical aspects of the bike in our earlier articles, the new spy shots focus on the instrument cluster primarily.
Coming right to the point, RE seems to be really stepping up their game with the Meteor. The all-new instrument cluster will supposedly feature a first-in-class and first-for-RE – two screens.
One of the screens will probably be an LCD display which shows information like mileage, time, fuel gauge, range and below it will be usual telltale lights which might include a side-stand indicator as well.
However, the other display is what interests us. It looks to be a TFT display, which might be for Bluetooth connectivity with navigation. We also think that if the bike gets navigation features, it might also get music and call control features as well.
The RE Meteor will be the first offering in the J segment of RE two-wheelers and will serve as a stepping stone to future models. It will replace the colourful RE Thunderbird 350X.
Further, the Meteor will feature an all-new 350cc engine which will obviously be BS6 compliant and will make more power than the 350X. It might also get dual-channel ABS and combi-braking features as an added safety measure.
To conclude, we think that RE is all set to answer the critics which say that they make technologically ancient motorcycles. We await the launch of the Meteor eagerly as it draws closer and closer because it might be the most technologically advanced RE yet!
