Royal Enfield Lineup Updated With BS-IV & AHO, Prices Increased

Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500 Gloss Black

Royal Enfield has updated all its motorcycles to meet upcoming BS-IV emission norms. Prices of all bikes have been increased.

No bike from RE’s stable gets ABS

Royal Enfield has been enjoying a constant sales growth, riding on the success of the Classic series. A few weeks back, Euro-IV versions of the British bikes were spotted abroad with fuel-injection, rear disc and ABS, and everyone expected the same to be brought to India. Well, RE has updated its India lineup to meet BS-IV emission norms but we have some disappointing news.

The Chennai based automaker hasn’t given ABS or rear disc to the Electra, Bullet and Classic, they continue with a rear drum while no motorcycle from the brand gets ABS. Other than the change to BS-IV, the bikes get AHO but that’s about it. No mechanical change has been made either.

However, there is an increase in prices across the fold by Rs. 3000-4000/-. The Royal Enfield range starts at Rs. 1.25 lakhs for the Bullet 350 and goes up to Rs. 2.26 lakhs for the low-selling Continental GT. The brand’s top selling model, the Classic 350, is now priced at Rs. 1.49 lakhs (all prices are on-road, Delhi).
