Royal Enfield has launched a new initiative called ‘Service on Wheels’ to offer doorstep motorcycle service to its customers. The leading bike manufacturer has deployed 800 units of purpose built service-ready motorcycles to dealerships across the country for the same.
This initiative is aimed at providing motorcycle maintenance and service to customers who might not want to risk going to the dealership amid a pandemic. Customers can simply avail of the service by contacting their nearest Royal Enfield dealership and a person will turn up at their doorstep to offer the service.
The Royal Enfield Service on Wheels bikes are equipped to carry tools, equipment and spare parts to undertake 80 percent of all service and repairs. Also, parts that the motorcycles are equipped with, including lubes, have a 12-month warranty, it is claimed.
Scheduled service, minor repairs, critical component testing, parts replacement, electrical diagnosis, among other jobs, will be done at a customer’s doorstep by trained and authorised service technicians, says Royal Enfield.
However, details about how much it would cost a customer when he or she avails of the new service initiative was not revealed while this article was written.
In addition to Service on Wheels, Royal Enfield also offers home test rides, e-payment options for motorcycle purchase and service, pick-up and drop facilities to ensure a contactless purchase and service experience for maximum safety.
With COVID-19 and the lockdown that ensued, the automobile industry has witnessed terrible losses. To bring things back on track, manufacturers are coming up with new initiatives to lure customers and to offer seamless aftersales experience.
