The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 has a seat height of 804 mm

Royal Enfield has finally put an end to all our speculations by announcing twin motorcycles at the 2017 EICMA. The two motorcycles have been named as the Interceptor and Continental GT. The Interceptor is a street style classic motorcycle while the Continental GT is a cafe racer.

It is a given that the Indian market is interested more in the Interceptor than the Continental GT. Here’s everything you need to know about the Interceptor 650 Twin. Lookswise the Interceptor gets classic design elements like the round headlamp design, spoked wheels, flat single piece seat and the dual exhausts. The Interceptor gets a raised handlebar and a comfortable riding position. The motorcycle gets a twin-pod instrument cluster and a tail-light similar to the current Continental GT 535.

The motorcycle uses 41 mm telescopic forks up front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Braking is taken care by 320 mm disc up front and a 240 mm disc at the rear. ABS is offered as standard. Powering the Interceptor is a 650cc parallel-twin, fuel-injected engine with air and oil cooling. The 650cc motor develops 47 HP of power at 7100 RPM and 52 Nm of torque at 4000 RPM. The motor mates with a 6-speed gearbox.

The Interceptor gets a 13.7-litre fuel-tank. Rivaling the Harley-Davidson Street 750, the Interceptor will go on sale starting next year.
