The production version of the highly anticipated Royal Enfield Himalayan has finally been spotted without any sort of camouflage. Launch of this adventure bike is scheduled for 2nd February 2016.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan has created so much hype that bikers are enthusiastically waiting for the bike to hit the market soon. The much-awaited motorcycle’s production version has finally been spotted and as we can see in the pictures, the motorbike is sporting a shade of white. A lot of spy pictures and videos were seen on the internet but this is the first time we are looking at the actual bike on the road, without any sort of camouflage on it.
The adventure bike looks very cool and it also has a nice and manly stance. The fuel tank and mudguard have Himalayan livery on them but there are no name badges or logos on the bike yet. The Himalayan gets circular mirrors, a big luggage case at the rear and beefy tyres along with a meaty exhaust to complete the looks. A number of panels have been painted to black while the bike also gets wired wheels and disc brakes.
There are external jerry cans on either side of the fuel tank and there is also a new lower set swing arm and a rear monoshock absorber. The seat is very slim while there is also a large wind screen and front forks which are painted in black. Since this is a touring bike meant for running long distances, Royal Enfield will be offering a lot of accessories for the bike.
In terms of mechanicals, the Royal Enfield Himalayan will be offered with an all-new 431cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled, SOHC engine that pumps out 30 HP of power and 32 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission. Most adventure bikes sold in the country are priced upwards of Rs. 10 lakhs but this one is going to cost somewhere around Rs. 2 lakhs so it’ll be interesting to see how it fares and what type of demand it witnesses.
