Royal Enfield has discontinued the GT Yellow shade on the Continental GT and replaced it with an all-new GT Green colour.
The Royal Enfield Continental GT is a very popular cafe racer and it created a lot of uproar when it was launched. The bike was available in quite a few bright colours and it also managed to hit the right chord with enthusiastic riders who were fans of the brand. The Continental GT was available in two colours when launched – GT Red and GT Yellow, with the GT Black being added later. However, there have been some changes to the product now and the GT Yellow colour has been discontinued making way for an all-new shade called GT Green.
The GT Green colour is a dark shade of green that resembles the colour used by the army. It lends the bike an even more macho feel and also gives it a ton of appeal. The seat comes with a brown coloured cover which adds a nice blend of contrast to the bike, making it look visually pleasant. Apart from this, there are no other changes to the bike and it continues to come with the same mechanicals and features.
The Continental GT is powered by a 535cc fuel-injected engine that produces 29.1 HP of power and 44 Nm of torque. The front suspension gets a traditional fork brace and revised shock absorbers while the rear suspension gets gas charged shock absorbers. The exhaust of the bike is also tweaked to give out a nice roar. The bike comes with Pirelli sport demon tyres mounted on a light-weight hub. The front wheel uses a 300 mm floating disc while the rear makes uses of a 240 mm disc.
The Royal Enfield Continental GT is available at a price tag of Rs. 1.95 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The motorcycle does not have any true competitors in its segment and the only other inexpensive cafe racer that we have in the market is the Hero Splendor Pro Classic which is much below the Continental GT when it comes to price, performance and appeal.
