Royal Enfield’s flagship cafe racer, the Continental GT 650 Twin has been announced at the 2017 EICMA Motor Show.
Royal Enfield has unveiled its new Continental GT 650 Twin at the 2017 EICMA. The Continental GT 650 and the Interceptor will first be launched in Europe in early 2018. Expect the Indian market to get the new twins by mid-2018.
In terms of looks, the Continental GT 650 bears resemblances to the GT 535. The Continental GT 650 gets the cafe racer styling elements like the chiselled fuel-tank, clip-on handlebar and rear-set footpegs. The GT 650 uses the same steel tubular, double cradle chassis as in the Interceptors’.
The Continental GT 650 is powered by a 650cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled and fuel-injected motor that churns out 47 HP of power at 7100 RPM and 52 Nm of torque at 4000 RPM. The 650cc motor is air and oil-cooled and comes paired to a 6-speed gearbox.
The motorcycle gets standard telescopic forks (41 mm) and twin shock absorbers at the front and rear respectively. 320 mm disc at the front and a 240 mm disc at the rear do the job of bringing the vehicle to a halt. ABS is standard on the motorcycle. Fuel tank capacity is 12.5-litres and the Continental GT 650 Twin tips the scales at 198 kgs (kerb weight).
