The Royal Enfield Classic 650 has been spied overseas
It has been a long time coming, but Royal Enfield has finally been caught road-testing the Classic 650, though not in India but on foreign soil.
Riding on wire-spoked wheels, the bike features regular front forks, twin rear shocks, split seat, and circular lights and indicators.
A wide handlebar, teardrop-style fuel tank, large front mudguard and a shortened rear fender complete the looks. And yes, the bike does have twin exhausts, since it uses the brand’s 648cc parallel-twin motor.
If the spoke wheels provide a proper hint about the bike’s identity, the placement of the handlebar and foot pegs and the resultant riding position of the test rider cements the fact that this is the larger-hearted Classic.
This recently spied Royal Enfield Classic 650 also had side panniers and a top case, and only a single disc brake on each wheel, indicating that it will come with the same power figure as the other 650s from the brand.
The 1 other middleweight bike from Enfield that was spotted on test runs is the Super Meteor. It was also kitted out with side and top cases, but it also had a crash guard with auxiliary lights, a large flyscreen and a completely chromed exhaust system.
Since Enfield has been testing them for quite some time, the global debut of these bikes should happen this year, starting with the Super Meteor, followed by the Shotgun and the Classic 650.
