The Royal Enfield 120th Anniversary Edition 650 twins commanded quite a premium over the regular versions
Royal Enfield has revealed that its 120th Anniversary Edition 650 twins got sold out in under 2 minutes in India. The limited edition Interceptor 650 cost Rs. 4.5 lakhs and the Continental GT 650 was priced at Rs. 4.8 lakhs (on-road).
The premium bike manufacturer had put on sale 60 units of the Interceptor 650 120th anniversary edition and the same number of Continental GT 650 anniversary edition models on 6th December.
When the sale opened at 7 pm yesterday, all 120 units of the limited edition models were snapped up by customers in India in under 120 seconds, Royal Enfield claims.
The company will soon sell 360 more units of the above-mentioned models in Europe, Americas and South-East Asia, with each market getting 120 units.
Unveiled at EICMA 2021, the limited edition models were created by the firm to celebrate its storied legacy. They featured a special black chrome paint scheme, handcrafted brass tank badges, gold-coloured motifs and pinstripes, a brown seat and blacked parts.
While mechanically they remained identical to the regular models, the Royal Enfield anniversary edition 650 twins came with blacked out accessories kits and a 5 year warranty.
