Rolls-Royce Unveils Limited Edition Ghost V-Specification

The Rolls-Royce Ghost is among the most luxurious cars you can buy today, offered in normal and extended wheelbase versions. The only drawback for the Ghost was the lack of outright power though it incorporates the twin-turbocharged assisted powertrain. In order to overcome this drawback and to attract performance lovers, Rolls-Royce has tuned the twin-turbocharged 6.6-litre V12 unit which does duty on the regular Ghost. The special edition variant will produce an additional 30 HP of power (593 HP in total) over the standard Ghost.

The upgrades to the drivetrain will increase the power and also enhance the efficiency which is rated at 7.35 km/l (under standard conditions). In addition to the updates to the powertrain, the Rolls-Royce Ghost has received minor cosmetic updates to the exteriors as well as the interiors to make it look different from the regular Ghost. The exteriors will now feature a hand painted coach line that has the V-Specification badge embedded to it and will run on newly designed 21-inch part polished alloy wheels which is first in its class.

The interiors now get a bespoke tread plate showing the car’s special edition V-Specification badge which is also seen on the cover of the infotainment system. There is an option of equipping the car with visible chrome exhausts. An exclusive new clock design with a distinctive black crown which is a typical Rolls-Royce feature surrounds the face and the leather upholstery features contrast piping and stitching patterns which adds up the luxury quotient of the vehicle. Rolls-Royce has decided to manufacture the Ghost V-Specification variant for a limited period of time after its global launch.

The special edition V-Specification Ghost is priced at €3,30,820 (Rs 2,79,68,000/-) which is costlier than the regular Ghost due to the additional goodies the vehicle is equipped with. The details about the launch hasn’t been confirmed yet but Rolls-Royce may debut this vehicle at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. The special edition vehicle will be available with five new shades namely Graphite, Black Sapphire, Black Kirsch, Arctic White and Infinity Black. You can also customise your heart out.
