Rolls-Royce May Introduce New Ghost Variants

Rolls-Royce is a name in the automobile industry, which needs no introduction. This British based company makes the world’s most luxurious and exquisite cars. Rolls-Royce has in its bank, the Phantom, which is offered in four trim levels and the Ghost which comes in two trim levels. Now Autocar UK, in an interview with the CEO of Rolls Royce, Mr. Torsten Müller-Ötvös, reported that Rolls Royce might introduce new variants of the Ghost in the coming years.

Sale tally has never been an issue for Rolls-Royce. According to Mr. Torsten, ‘chase volume’ has never been their motive but they would surely like to improve their last year sale figures to 4,000 units a year from the current 3538 units. The company is planning to introduce two new variants in its Ghost line-up and most importantly these variants won’t be limited editions. Adding more variants will surely help the company to get more numbers. No information was given regarding the new variants but we can expect one of them to be a convertible.

Apart from these two variants, Rolls-Royce will officially present the coupe version of the Ghost next year at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. No announcement is made regarding the coupe variant but the car will get its unique name apart from Ghost. According to sources, to power the car, a 6.6-litre V12 engine will be used which will produce 600 HP, which is 44 HP more than the sedan. Last year, the Rolls-Royce Ghost broke the sales record of the company, which was previously set in 1978 by the Silver Shadow 2.
