The Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost comes with cosmetic differences and more performance
Rolls-Royce has announced that it will launch the Black Badge Ghost, unveiled globally in October 2021, in India this year.
As the name suggests the Black Badge Ghost comes with dark exterior elements and the 21-inch wheels made of carbon alloy composite is unique to the model.
This being a Rolls-Royce product, customers have the option to choose from 44,000 paint options that are readily available. But, one can also decide to a bespoke hue and the British marque will oblige.
Stepping inside, one would be greeted by a luxurious cabin. But, the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost has blacked trim throughout the interior and this includes the wood veneer.
Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 6.75-litre V12 engine producing 600 PS and 900 Nm of torque, 29 PS and 50 Nm more than what the standard second-generation Ghost has.
The engine is teamed to an 8-speed automatic gearbox which is paired to an all-wheel drive system. Oh! the car also has all-wheel steering, improved driving dynamics and decreased brake pedal travel coupled with a raised braking point.
As with all products in the marque’s Black Badge portfolio, the ‘Low’ button situated on the gear selection stalk unlocks the car’s full suite of technologies.
Press that button and the vehicle’s exhaust note amplifies, gearshift speed increases by 50 percent (when throttle is depressed to 90 percent) and the full 900 Nm of torque becomes available from 1700 RPM.
Since the new generation Ghost was introduced in 2020 at Rs. 6.95 crores (ex-showroom), the Black Badge version should command quite a premium and easily cost over Rs. 7 crores (ex-showroom).
