River Indie price revealed, comes in three colour options
River Indie launched with a price tag of Rs. 1.25 lakhs (ex-showroom). The all-electric scooter is developed by a Bengaluru-based startup. It comes in three colour options – Monsoon Blue, Summer Red and Spring Yellow.
The scooter has a 4 kWh battery pack and comes with a claimed riding range of 120 km on a single charge. Using a standard charger, the Indie can charge from 0 to 80 percent in 5 hours.
The electric motor produces a power of 6.7 kW and 26 Nm of torque. It does 0-40 km/hr in 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 90 km/hr. The scooter has three riding modes – Eco, Ride and Rush.
The Indian bike maker is offering a warranty of 5 years/50,000 km for both the battery and scooter.
In terms of styling, the scooter looks quite quirky and futuristic at the same time. The manufacturer has focused more on the practicality factor.
It comes with 14-inch front and rear alloy wheels, combined braking system, 240 mm front disc brake and 200 mm rear disc. It has got 43 litres of under seat storage, 12 litre capacity glove box, 2 pannier mounts and a bag hook.
The electric scooter gets both front and rear foot pegs, 20-inch floor bed, telescopic front suspension and twin hydraulic rear suspension.
For convenience, it gets forward and revers park assist, 6-inch colour display, 2 USB ports and centre stand.
The scooter will compete with the likes of Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1 Pro, Ather 450X and TVS iQube S.
