The Triber has been made specifically for the Indian market

Renault has been working on a new compact 7-seater vehicle and the French automaker has now officially announced the name of what was till now called the RBC. As per the automaker’s website, the Triber is based on a new platform. The Triber will bridge the gap between the Kwid and the SUVs in Renault’s portfolio.

The Renault Triber’s official webpage is now live. The automaker describes the vehicle as a Made for India product which has been designed and developed for our market. The company also claims that the Triber will offer best-in-segment space. Unlike the Datsun GO+ which is a stretched version of the GO hatchback, the Triber has been developed extensively and will boast of different styling than the Kwid.

Renault is aiming to offer the best of both worlds with the Triber – space of an MPV and convenience of a hatchback because this vehicle won’t be very large in size. Expect the Triber to be loaded with a lot more features than the Kwid. Renault India hasn’t revealed the technical specifications of the vehicle yet.

Renault is likely to offer both MT and AMT options with the Triber. It’ll comply with the upcoming safety norms and will get dual front airbags as standard. The vehicle is expected to be priced between Rs. 6-8 lakhs and while it doesn’t have a proper rival because it’s creating a new segment, it’ll be preferred by a lot of people who want more space and seating capacity but on a budget.
