The much awaited 7-seater sub 4-metre Renault Triber has been unveiled.
Renault has taken the wraps off the much awaited Triber. The sub 4-metre 7-seater vehicle from the French carmaker will be launched in the coming months. We have seen a lot of test mules and teasers of the vehicle and now it is finally here with all the specifications and features revealed officially.
The Renault Triber is based on the Kwid’s modified CMF-A platform. It comes with projector headlights up front along with a sizeable grille with chrome elements. The front bumper houses LED DRLs and faux skid plate. There is black cladding running across the car for a rugged appeal.
The side profile reveals a hatchback-like silhouette, 15-inch alloy wheels, 182 mm ground clearance and roof rails. The rear profile has wrap around tail lamps, rear windshield wiper and faux skid plate.
The interior has a layered dashboard with dual-tone finish. It gets a new Renault steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster. Some of the features include 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cooled central storage are and cup holders, keyless entry with push button start/stop, reverse parking camera, etc.
The seating is flexible and the third row seat is removable. It gets 625-litre boot space when third row seats are removed. 84-litres of space is available with all the 7 seats up. The roof rails offered are functional with a load capacity of 50 kgs.
Powering the Renault Triber is a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine that produces 72 PS of power at 6250 RPM and 96 Nm of torque at 3500 RPM. It is available with both 5-speed MT and AMT gearbox options. It has a fuel tank capacity of 40-litres and kerb weight of 947 kgs. Tyre size is 185/65/15.
The Renault Triber has no direct rivals in the market apart from the Datsun GO+. The Triber will compete against the premium hatchbacks with an expected price starting from Rs. 5.50 lakhs (ex-showroom).
