Renault India has announced a price hike for the recently launched Pulse, which was offered at an introductory price of Rs. 5.77 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The French automaker will increase the price of the Renault Pulse throughout the country by 2% (around Rs. 12,000/-). Just last month, Nissan undertook a price revision of the Micra diesel by a similar amount. This price hike has been initiated due to the rise in input costs the company says. The price increase on the Renault Pulse will be effective from 8th March, 2012. Currently Renault offers the Pulse with a diesel variant only, which is powered by the tried and tested 1.5-litre dCi engine. The Pulse is available in two variants – RxL and RxZ. Renault had recently hiked prices of the Koleos by Rs. 1 lakh.

“The Pulse has been received very well by our customers and we have received a large number of enquiries from potential customers. The Pulse represents the aspirations and needs of present day customers and comes loaded with features which provide an extremely good value for money proposition. In the face of rising input cost we have now no option but to pass on a part of the cost to our customers although the Pulse still remains as one of the most competitive in its segment on all features including the price,” Marc NASSIF, Managing Director, Renault India, said.
