Renault India has launched the Scala Travelogue, a limited edition variant to boost the sales of the sedan amidst the slowdown. The Scala Travelogue Edition comes with a host of accessories to attract many buyers which includes Integrated Multimedia NAV system, rear sunshade, illuminated scuff plates, turn indicators on rear view mirrors and muffler cutter. We have seen the introduction of the touch screen multimedia NAV system recently on the Renault Duster, which includes navigation with voice assist, DVD player, Bluetooth connectivity, USB port, iPod connectivity, reverse camera portability and steering mounted controls.
The Renault Scala Travelogue Edition is available only with the Scala RXZ diesel variant priced at Rs. 9,78,500/- (ex-showroom, Delhi). As it is a limited edition variant, the Scala Travelogue will be available with the dealers across India till 31st May, 2013. Reminding you about the tech specs of the diesel powered Scala, the 4-cylinder 1.5-litre K9K diesel powertrain produces a maximum power of 84.8 BHP at 3750 RPM with a peak torque of 200 Nm at 2000 RPM, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Scala diesel returns a claimed fuel mileage of 21 km/l.
The 1.5-litre petrol powered Renault Scala produces 97 BHP of peak power with 134 Nm of torque, mated to an option of a 5-speed manual gearbox and a CVT automatic transmission. The Scala Xtronic with the CVT automatic gearbox claims a better fuel efficiency figure of 18 km/l over the manual version’s 17 km/l. The Renault Scala is a better looking sibling of the Nissan Sunny competing with the likes of Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Skoda Rapid and Volkswagen Vento. The Scala is known for its class leading interior space, strong performance and fuel efficient engines.
