The Renault Duster was introduced in the Indian market in 2012 and was one of the first compact SUVs to be launched here. The vehicle created a huge stir in the market and performed amazingly well. Then Ford dropped the bomb with the EcoSport which was priced significantly lower than the Duster and yet it had better features. The segment has seen few other launches too like the Nissan Terrano and Mahindra XUV5OO W4 and now many more compact SUVs will be launched in the near future. To keep up with competition, Renault has now launched the Duster Adventure Edition as well as a new 85 PS RxL Plus variant.
The Adventure Edition is a cosmetically spruced up variant of the Duster which makes it appear more robust and sturdy. The body now gets cladding all over, smoked headlights, bumper add-ons with integrated fog lamps, white door handles and ORVMs and a body sticker behind the rear quarter glass. The design of the alloy wheels remains unchanged but now they are offered in a gunmetal shade which looks much better than the silver shade.
Coming to the interiors, Renault has made changes only to the upholstery and nothing else. The seats are now offered in a combination of grey and yellow which looks a bit out of place. The bright yellow shade might not be to everyone’s tastes. The doors and floor mats have got the same treatment as well. No mechanical changes have been made to the Duster Adventure Edition and it is available only in the top spec 110 PS variant.
Renault has also launched the 85 PS RxL Plus variant of the Duster. This variant comes with airbags, ABS, EBD and Brake Assist as additional to the foglamps, engine immobiliser, power windows, tilt steering, 2-DIN audio system that are already standard on the RxL variant. The RxL Plus variant is slotted between RxL and RxL Option variants. The Renault Duster Adventure Edition is priced at Rs. 12,18,047/- while the Duster 85 PS RxL Plus is priced at Rs. 10,57,591/- (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
