The car gets many race inspired upgrades to make it look like its ready to hit the local race track. It has 18-inch wheels and Alcantara interiors.
Renault took the Indian car market by storm last year when it launched its small car Kwid in direct competition to the almighty Suzuki Alto. As the car was spacious, well built and had features unheard of in that segment, the Kwid went on to become a major success for the French manufacturer. Building on the solid name it has established for itself, Renault has now showcased the the Kwid Race R.
Displayed at the 2016 Auto Expo in a beautiful color not very different from Audi’s Nogaro blue, the Kwid Race R looks stunning. It further emphasizes its racing ambitions by adorning a body kit all around and a rear diffuser with a sweet looking center exhaust. It also gets full LED headlamps along with a glossy black grille and a bright red tow hook.
The theme is continued inside where a generous use of Alcantara solidifies its racing pretensions. The Kwid Race R is equipped with a roll cage and bucket seats. There are silver accents on the instrument cluster and the gear knob is a silver spherical unit. The car seems to have multiple mechanical changes like front and rear disk brakes with bright red calipers, stiffer suspension and a bigger 1-litre engine. The Race R package is completed by 18-inch alloys shod with low profile tyres.
