After unveiling the Kwid Climber and Racer concepts, it’s the Kwid with a 1.0-litre engine under the hood that is awe inspiring.
Renault unveiled yet another sleeve to their super successful hatchback in the form of a 1.0-litre variant. Having received over one lakh bookings within four months acclaims the hatchback’s stupendous success and to keep that continuing, Renault is right on its streak towards upgrading and churning out several other variants. Without revealing much, the 1.0-litre petrol version of the Kwid on display did look the same visually to its 0.8-litre cousin.
Power figure of the 1.0-litre petrol variant is reported to be 77 BHP but the icing on the cake is ABS and dual Airbags being provided as a standard feature across all variants of Kwid 1.0-litre. Currently, the hatchback is powered by a 0.8-litre engine and sees a waiting period of up to ten months in certain cities. In order to meet the demand, Renault has been planning to ramp up the production by adding a shift so as to accommodate another 50 percent of volume.
