Renault Kwid 1.0-litre has been launched in India with a manual gearbox, offered in two varaints. The Renault Kwid 1.0-litre price starts at Rs. 3.83 lakhs.
The Renault Kwid 1.0-litre has been launched in India, priced at an introductory Rs. 3.83 lakhs for the RxT variant while the RxT (O) is priced at Rs. 3.96 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). This results in the Renault Kwid 1.0-litre being Rs. 22,000/- more expensive than the Kwid 800cc. Powering the more powerful Kwid is a new 999cc, 3-cylinder engine which outputs 68 PS at 5500 RPM and 91 Nm at 4250 RPM. The motor is matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox while an AMT will be launched in the next couple of months.
Renault claims the Kwid 1.0-litre has the best in class power to weight ratio of 97 PS per tonne while the ARAI certified mileage is 23.01 km/l. What differentiates the 0.8-litre Kwid from the 1.0-litre model are white chequered decals with 1.0-litre on the lower half of the doors while the outside rearview mirrors get a gloss grey covering. The vehicle still doesn’t get internally adjustable rearview mirrors, ABS isn’t offered either.
The Renault Kwid 1.0-litre gets features like Bluetooth connectivity, 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system, GPS navigation, front power windows, remote central locking while a driver side airbag is optional.
Renault has sold 80,000 units of the Kwid in India and the 1.0-litre SCe engine is the first global engine coming from our country. The company will have 270 outlets in the sub-continent by December 2016 and plans to have 25 workshops on wheels in the same time. The Renault Kwid has received 1.65 lakh bookings till date.
