Renault is developing a new compact SUV that will share components with the Triber.
Renault recently unveiled the Triber in India and this is an all-new 7-seater vehicle that will be launched in the coming few weeks. The French automaker is also working on a new compact SUV which will measure less than 4-metres in length and will rival other small SUVs in the market.
The Renault HBC will be based on the same CMF-A+ platform that also underpins the Triber and this platform is compatible with a lot of different body styles. The HBC is likely to share exterior and interior styling elements with the Triber but this will be a 5-seater.
The Renault HBC is likely to share many of its mechanicals with the Triber. It is expected to come with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine with MT and AMT options. Renault had stated sometime back that they will discontinue diesel engines in India in the future.
The Renault HBC is a compact SUV being made for the Indian market. The vehicle is still undergoing development and it is likely to be launched in 2021. By then, the compact SUV segment will have more offerings than the current models.
