Renault Duster turbo petrol launch will take place in August and it will get the 1.3-litre engine that was showcased at the Auto Expo this year.
The French firm is yet to finalise the date, but is expected to do so soon and it is likely to be around August-end.
The new 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine produces 153 BHP peak power and 250 Nm of torque. It will come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, while a CVT will also be offered.
If you think that it sounds familiar, that is because the setup is already available in the Nissan Kicks.
The 1.5-litre petrol engine that the compact SUV already comes with will also be on sale despite the Renault Duster turbo petrol launch and will be present in the lower variants while the turbo gets offered with the higher trims.
Design-wise there are minimal changes, apart from the entirely new drivetrain. The car on display at the Auto Expo had red accents on the grille and over the fog lamps, and the word Duster picked out in red on the roof rails and on the tail gate.
Inside, we did not notice any changes but Renault might carry on the red theme on the interior trims too so as to keep with the exterior theme.
As standard, the turbo petrol will come with projector headlights with DRLs, LED taillights, 7-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, cooled glovebox, among others.
Customers will also get a whole host of safety features and optional kit to choose from as well, for a compact SUV that is expected to be priced around Rs. 12 lakhs (ex-showroom). Watch this space.
