Renault Duster AWD Has Seat Belt Issue

The seat belt has been affixed in the wrong direction facing the pillar instead of the seat and needs to be rectified. The issue is on all AWD Dusters.

The seat belt lock has been fitted in the opposite direction & needs to be changed

If the Renault Duster AWD has caught your fancy and have booked one for yourself, make sure to check the driver’s seat belt direction before accepting delivery. The seat belt lock on the Duster AWD has been fitted in the wrong direction facing the B-pillar instead of the seat. While the issue may not catch one’s eye at first glance, the occupant will certainly find out later due to the discomfort of a twisted belt. A manufacturing glitch we assume, the seat belt lock needs to change direction and we are pretty sure Renault dealers will oblige to change the same free of cost.

Launched last month, the Renault Duster AWD has been one of the long awaited variants of the compact SUV from the French automaker. The Duster AWD not only gets the added AWD system but also spruced up interiors with new features on board. While the exteriors remain the same, the cabin gets updated with new instrument console, revised MID screen, new touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, Bluetooth and other media connectivity. The interiors also get a new grey and black colour scheme, while the seats are upholstered in red and grey shades.

Renault has also added electronic torque control, brake assist, ESP, ESR and understeer control as part of the features list. Powering the Duster AWD is the same 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine that produces 110 PS of power and 248 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. Power is sent to all four wheels via the AWD system which comes with 3 modes. Furthermore, Renault has upgraded the rear suspension on the AWD variant to an independent unit which improves the ride quality of the compact SUV. The Duster AWD has priced from Rs. 11.89 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), while the fuel efficiency is rated at an ARAI certified 19.72 km/l.
