Renault India showcased the Duster Adventure Edition at the ongoing 2014 Auto Expo in Delhi. The capable Duster gets a number of accessories to make the SUV look more rugged showcasing its off-road prowess. Renault is expected to launch Adventure Edition in the coming weeks. This isn’t the first time Renault has brought out a special edition of its hot selling Duster, last year the company launched the Duster Anniversary Edition to celebrate one year of launch of this compact SUV.
The Renault Duster Adventure Edition gets aesthetic upgrades on the exterior as well as the interior. The front features smoked headlamps and bumper add-ons with integrated fog lamps that give a brawny appearance to the car. Black plastic cladding has been added across the belt line on the sides and on the wheel arches, while the door handles and ORVMs are finished in white to distinguish the car from the regular version. A special body sticker has been added just behind the rear quarter glass (reminds one of the Safari Explorer edition), while the 5-spoke alloy wheels get a gun metal finish. The rear remains unchanged, but gets the ‘Adventure’ moniker on the bottom right.
On the inside, the cabin of the Duster Adventure Edition has received visual upgrades only. The upholstery is now done up in a two-tone fluorescent yellow and grey colours which extends on the doors and the floor mats as well. There is no upgrade on the electronics and the car is offered with the same multi-media touchscreen unit.
The Duster Adventure Edition will most likely be offered on the top-end diesel variant producing 110 PS of power mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The SUV remains a two-wheel drive with power being channelled to the front wheels. The Duster facelift which is on sale internationally is expected in the second half of the year.
