Details of the India-spec Renault Captur have been revealed, will come powered by 1.5 petrol and diesel engines.
Showcased first in Moscow last year, the Renault Captur is currently on sale in Russia (as Kaptur) and a few other South American markets. As Renault is gearing up to launch the Captur in India this festive season, the India-spec SUV’s details have been revealed well in advance.
Underpinning the Duster’s M0 platform, the Renault Captur will be slotted above the Duster in the line-up and will directly rival the Hyundai Creta. The crossover will be offered with a choice of 2 engines – 1.5-litre petrol (also offered on Duster CVT) and 1.5-litre diesel which is offered on the Duster and Terrano, but is expected to get a power bump.
Initially, there won’t be an automatic gearbox offered on both these engines, but at a later date Renault could start offering 4WD as well as an AT gearbox. On the styling front, the Captur will get LED headlamps with LED DRLs and a contrast roof option. The SUV will feature a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and Bluetooth connectivity.
