Renault has updated the Captur with new mechanicals, cosmetic changes and new features.
The Renault Captur got a facelift in Russia. It comes with minor styling changes. Gets some substantial mechanical changes as well. The equipment list now comes with new features.
Renault introduced the Captur in India for the first time in 2017. The car is due for an update. We can expect a similar facelift to launch by 2021 in our country.
The Russia-spec facelift gets new grille with chrome elements. The headlights and bumper remain the same. The side profile reveals a fresh set of alloy wheels. With dark inserts, the new rims look quite sporty.
The rear profile remains more or less the same. There are hardly any changes to notice.
The Renault Captur facelift gets some interior changes. There is a new steering wheel design with brushed aluminium material. The touchscreen infotainment system is 1-inch bigger at 8-inches.
Renault claims the quality of materials has improved with the facelift along with better ergonomics. There is a new blind spot monitoring feature. The new model also comes with 360 degree camera just like Nissan Kicks. The key design has changed as well, looks more premium.
Renault has introduce the new 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine with this facelift in Russia. It is the same engine introduced with Kicks recently. It develops 156 HP and is mated to a CVT auto transmission.
The French carmaker already offers all-wheel drive system in Russia. It is present in the facelift too. Another important update is the new electro-mechanic steering unit. It replaces the electro-hydraulic steering wheel.
India-spec facelift should arrive by 2021. We can expect similar changes. It’s likely to get 1.5-litre petrol and new 1.3-litre turbo petrol with BS6 compliance. 1.5-litre diesel has already been discontinued.
