Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 heads to Bonneville Salt Flats before its global launch.
Bonneville Salt Flats, the mecca for land speed records. Every vehicle manufacturer wants their vehicle to set a record at this location. This time itβs the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 which is heading to set a speed record prior to its launch. The global launch of the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 is reported to be around last week of September, following the India launch in October.
The speed run is scheduled to be done during early October. This event will further increase the anticipation for the new Royal Enfield twins. A Continental GT 650 has been customised especially for this event. The exact details of changes are not official yet. We expect a hardtail frame with Ohlins suspension setup and modified clip-on handlebars on the customised Royal Enfield Continental GT 650.
The output from the 650cc parallel twin engine will go up to 100 HP with the help of nitrous oxide (NOS), resulting in a top speed of 241 km/hr. However, the tank remains the same but gets some aero wrapping around it. Piloting the bike is an 18-year-old Cayla Rivas. Cayla has been riding since 2012 and holds twelve speed records in her kitty.
