Royal Enfield has launched the Bullet Trials 350 and 500 in India.
The existence of a new Royal Enfield motorcycle has been doing rounds since a while now. But after the recent teaser by the company, it was imminent that the legendary motorcycle manufacturer is soon going to introduce a new motorcycle under the brand name. The Royal Enfield Trials 350 and 500 have finally seen the light of the day. The motorcycles have arrived in the scrambler avatar.
The Royal Enfield Trials follow the design language from the Classic series. However, the motorcycles have been treated with a lot of modifications to make them stand apart from the rest of the Royal Enfield motorcycles. The frame of the Trials has been painted in red and green to make it stand out. It also sports a Royal Enfield 3-dimensional logo on the tank, as we have seen on the RE 650 twins. The headlight has been retained and is the same round unit which now gets a grill.
The rear seat is given up in favour of a luggage rack and the mudguard has also been shortened which will allow more wheel travel. The tail section has been borrowed from the now discontinued Continental GT 535. It gets chrome touches here and there along with a smaller chrome finished front fender.
The exhaust has been swapped for an upswept unit which adds to its water-wading capabilities. The front fork also gets black gaiters. The wheels are wire-spoke wheels which are shod with knobbly tyres with a 19-inch front rim and an 18-inch rear rim. The braking duties are taken care of disc brakes on the front and rear. Dual-channel ABS is also standard on the Trails.
Coming to the engine, the Royal Enfield Trials 350 and 500 get the same engines as the Classic series – 350cc single cylinder and 500cc single cylinder engines. The 350cc unit makes 20 PS of power and 28 Nm of torque and the 500cc makes 27.5 PS of power and 41.3 Nm of torque. Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The Royal Enfield Bullet Trials is priced at Rs. 1.62 lakhs for the 350 variant and Rs. 2.07 lakhs for the 500 variant (all prices, ex-showroom, India).
