S&S Performance has modified the RE 650 Twins to increase its displacement from 650cc to 865cc.
S&S Performance is offering a Big Bore Kit that includes cylinders, pistons and a head gasket for the RE 650 Twins that would cost about USD 630.95 (Rs. 43,786/-) and will increase the displacement of your bike to 750cc. And if 750cc is not enough for you, you can shell out another USD 4 (Rs. 262/-) to bump up the displacement to 865cc.
There are no specs as to how much performance increase will the higher displacement engine offer. Currently, the 650 Twins are powered by a 648cc, parallel-twin, oil-cooled engine that churns out 47 BHP and 52 Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. S&S Performance has added a disclaimer on its website that the Big Bore Kit is for closed course competition use only and it is not intended for street use.
S&S Performance is also offering several other parts that will help boost the power figures and they are available in select international markets. If you have thought about sourcing the parts to India, you might face some difficulties. In India, RE is set to increase the prices of the 650 Twins by Rs. 20,000/-, that means that the Interceptor 650 will be priced at Rs. 2.70 lakhs and the Continental GT 650 will retail at Rs. 2.85 lakhs (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
