The Range Rover SVAutobiography is the first luxury SUV to be developed by JLR Group’s Special Vehicle Operations division known for developing performance variants.
The Range Rover SVAutobiography was introduced at the 2015 New York Auto Show and made its Indian debut at the 2016 Auto Expo conducted a few days ago. For those who are not in the know, the Autobiography is the most luxurious Range Rover of all time and the SV is the performance variant with added luxury developed by JLR Group’s Special Vehicle Operations division.
The Range Rover SVAutobiography also marked the entry of dual-tone colour option in the Range Rover lineup. The Santorini Black colour of the upper part can be paired with an option of nine different colours. It is the most luxurious and most powerful Range Rover of all time.
Internationally the Range Rover SVAutobiography is offered with three engine options that include the regular 4.4-litre, SDV8, turbocharged V8 engine that produces 335 HP and 740 Nm of torque and a 3.0-litre SDV6 engine that produces 244 BHP and 600 Nm. However, the most exciting option is the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 that does duty on the performance bred SVR. The motor produces 543 BHP and 680 Nm of torque while all the engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
The Range Rover SVAutobiography sports distinctive material used in the cupholders and seat covers while the foot pedal and switchgear are graced with knurled finishing. The rear passengers enjoy luxuries such as chiller compartment, powered deployable tables, solid aluminium coat hooks integrated on the pillars and mohair carpet mats.
