Land Rover launched the 2013 Range Rover in India in the Sport and Vogue guises and now the company has launched another version of this mighty SUV here at the 2014 Auto Expo. This is none other than the Range Rover LWB (long-wheel-base) that is aimed at providing greater space and comfort to its passengers, especially in the rear seat. This vehicle is aimed at markets where buyers use the rear seat more and let their chauffeurs do the driving. The Range Rover LWB is also loaded with some neat features that will make sure your journey is never boring.
Currently this SUV is the largest vehicle from Land Rover’s product portfolio and it is available in the flagship Autobiography Black variant. When you are buying such a special vehicle you get to choose from a plethora of customization options from manufacturer. Customers will be able to select individualized seats, customized centre console with all the entertainment options that you can ask for and a chiller compartment with pop-out tables for all your refreshments. The Autobiography variant is available with two engine options – 5.0-litre supercharged petrol engine and 4.4-litre turbo diesel engine, while the Vogue trim is available with 3.0-litre diesel and 4.4-litre diesel.
The Land Rover Range Rover is made up of an aluminium body and the company’s engineers have stretched the body and increased the wheelbase by 8-inches and the leg space has been improved by 5.5-inches. With the Range Rover LWB, you can opt for reclining seats available with the executive seating package. Heck, the company has even added a massage option with the seats, just in case you’re too busy to go to a massage clinic. Right now, the LWB option will be available only with the Autobiography and Supercharged variants but we are expecting the company to extend the LWB range to the other variants too.
All in all, the Range Rover LWB is a great option for those who love travelling or rather relaxing in the back seat away from the maddening traffic and hustle-bustle of the city. Even 2014 the Mercedes-Benz S-Class is a good option for buyers to consider but if you’re looking at travelling through some rough roads and want to try out off-roading once in a blue moon, then this is the vehicle for you. The Range Rover will offer the utmost comfort while on the road and it will show off its real capabilities when you take it off the road. It comes with a starting price of Rs. 2.08 crores (ex-showroom, Delhi).
