QJMotor has unveiled the Race 500, a fully faired motorcycle based on the Benelli Leoncino 500, on the eve of the Beijing Auto Show.
Visually, the motorcycle looks inspired by Yamaha supersport models of old. The fairing on the motorcycle has the right amount of creases and cuts, while the flyscreen is fairly small.
The QJMotor Race 500 also sports twin headlights, split seats and a sharp tail section, while the lights are all LEDs. Judging by the way the handlebars and rider foot pegs are setup, the Race 500 seems to be more of a middleweight tourer, rather than a committed supersport motorcycle.
From the picture, it is clear that the QJMotor Race 500 is powered by the same 500cc parallel twin engine that does duty in the Leoncino 500.
The motor is good for 47.5 PS and 46 Nm of torque in the roadster and we reckon it produces similar power and torque outputs on the faired bike as well. Similarly, the Race 500 also seems to share the Leoncino 500’s suspension, wheels and brakes.
It is believed that the QJMotor Race 500 will be sold in India under the Benelli brand with its launch possibly taking place here by next year.
