Bajaj Auto unveiled the Pulsar SS400 at the 2014 Auto Expo. The SS400 Pulsar is a full faired version of the Pulsar and is a distant cousin of the KTM RC 390. This motorcycle will be powered by a single-cylinder engine with a 375cc mill with output being slightly lower than the KTM Duke 390. The launch of the Pulsar SS400 is due for the second half of 2014, with only one variant on offer.
The Pulsar SS400 is expected to be priced at Rs. 1.75 lakhs and will come with ABS as standard. The bike will compete with the KTM RC 390 which will cost significantly more. There is no other bike in the same price band which can compete directly with the Pulsar SS400 as Bajaj Auto is offering lots of power and performance for not much of a monetary outlay. This SS400 will become the flagship Pulsar till the CS400 arrives next year. It will undercut the Honda CBR250R in terms of pricing but will offer significantly better performance compared to the Japanese machine.
