The long and tedious wait for the 2015 Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 (200 SS for our readers overseas) is finally paying off as more details emerge on the upcoming bike that is set to hit the showrooms next week. Tagged as the ‘Fastest Pulsar Yet’, the new Race Sport (RS) 200 will come equipped with ABS on the base variant as standard which makes the fully-faired sports bike more value for money than ever while also complying with the government’s proposal to make ABS mandatory on 125cc and above bikes in 2017.

That said, the base variant on the Pulsar RS 200 will get a single-channel ABS unit that controls only the front wheel while power will be coming from the same 199.5cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, carbureted engine from the 200 NS that is likely to churn out around 23.7 PS on offer. On the other hand, the range-topping RS 200 will get a dual channel ABS unit effective to control both wheels and the engine will also be upgraded with fuel injection system increasing the power output to 24.4 PS.

Both the variants will be sharing the same exteriors with the dual projector headlamps and clear lens tail lights offered as standard. Bajaj dealers across the country have commenced accepting bookings for the Pulsar RS 200 for a token amount of Rs. 5000/- while test rides will be available by the end of next week. The Pune-based manufacturer has been known for its competitive prices and the new RS 200 will also be a value for money offering with prices expected to be around the Rs. 1 lakh mark (ex-showroom) for the base variant. The RS 200 will be officially launched on 26th March.
